You know those moments when you think life might actually have hit the point where it’s too much? Too hard. Too sad. Too unexpected. Too stressful. So you whisper a little prayer that sounds something like: Jesus, please help.
I’ve had a few of those moments. Like last Saturday when I was knee-deep in stress from a long week and trying to cram too many tasks into one day (story of my life) and all of the children were calling for me about something. I’m pretty sure I only have five kids but I’m also sure there were at least eight children yelling at me at that moment. I was just about to lose it.

Or then there’s the moment a couple of summers ago when I was frantically trying to reach our pediatrician. “Hello? Yes, I think our children may be moving to Spain or Africa in the next month or two. What vaccines do they need to get? Can you please help me get them ready?!” How does one handle such a situation: trying to prepare for the possibility of what-feels-like my children being taken so far away from us to live with biological family. So I made calls about vaccines. And made photo books for the children. And whispered for help.
Do you know what Jesus told me? He whispered right back with a deep, resounding: I will.
I will respond to the prayer of the destitute.
I will sustain you.
I will not let your foot slip.
I will answer you as soon as I hear you.
“I will” promises from Jesus started jumping off the pages of my Bible. So I did what I love to do: I made a list. These promises are so beautiful! It’s such an “anchor for our soul” (Hebrews 6:19) when we can know for sure that God will do something for us. Yet they are not trite or trivial promises. He is not promising health or riches or comfort or convenience or even the kind of rescue we are wishing for. But God does promise His presence and peace and help and hope. That’s really what I needed and still need.
I will take great delight in you.
I will refresh the weary.
I will not take My love from you.
I will come.
What good is a list of amazing promises if I can’t share it? So I created a beautiful, printable PDF of 24 “I Will” promises from Jesus. Just for you. If you’re already a part of my e-mail newsletter family, the list will come straight to your inbox this weekend! Or you can enter your e-mail address below.
Post the list where you can see it often. Remember His promises to you. Recite them and remind yourself of His faithfulness.
When you just can’t anymore
He promises
He will

I got teary eyed when I read this!!! What a beautiful post! How simple, and how profound is that simplicity. God’s voice is incredible!
Thank you for reading, Carolyn. So thankful for His promises to us!
