Oh my sweet little bear, our big squish, “hobby lobby,” hobster lobster . . . he has lots and lots of nicknames around here.
Little man has been with us over a year now . . . our longest foster placement ever besides our three adopted children. We thought for sure he would be going home in six months. Then we planned for him to leave in June. And now we’re kind of back to square one with the next court hearing in October. I didn’t expect to experience one year of G-tube feeds, a year of visits four-times-per-week, a year of laughs and smiles, a year of doctor appointments, a year of our olders helping and attaching, and a year of getting to love the sweetest baby ever. 💛
Oh Jesus, help us to love our boy and his family well as long as he’s here, and then hopefully be able to support them even after, if we can.
The essential thing “in heaven and earth” is . . . that there should be long obedience in the same direction; there thereby results, and has always resulted in the long run, something which has made life worth living.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Foster care is a practical working out of “long obedience in the same direction.”
