A collection of courage-bringers, hope for your soul and your heart during these uncertain days.
This podcast episode on anxiety by Phylicia Masonheimer really encouraged me last week. “In this episode, we break down why approaching anxiety physically & spiritually is essential to battling well, knowing God’s character is the first step to true trust, and what victory over anything looks like for the believer.”

Here’s a YouTube playlist of my current favorite worship songs, including “Goodness of God,” “Famous For,” and “It is Finished.” When the feelings get too overwhelming, just do what I do and turn up the worship music.
After I listened to a podcast episode by Emily P. Freeman (see below), I started journaling about what we know to be true about God. And also thinking about the untrue things we may think about Him. A few days ago I made a painting about what I learned and posted it on Instagram.

A hesitate to say this but there is only one podcast that I listen to every week and I have listened to all 167 episodes. It’s the “Young House Love Has a Podcast” podcast. Yes, it’s about home and renovating and family–but it’s easy listening and entertaining and enjoyable. Their last episode made me laugh out loud multiple times . . . and it had something to do with toilets. I’ll just leave it at that.
A couple of book recommendations for you during these days–borrow from the library digitally, of course. Or the Amazon links below have free audible versions!
- Christy by Catherine Marshall
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Annie Barrows & Mary Ann Shaffner
- Girls Club by Sally, Sarah, & Joy Clarkson
- The Next Right Thing by Emily P. Freeman
More podcasts to listen to! This episode made me cry in all of the best ways: Never Believe Anything Bad About God by Emily P. Freeman. And another by the same gal: What to do When The World Shuts Down where she guides you through three exercises to look at what’s new, what’s middle, and what’s ending in your life.
Sometimes a fresh phone lock screen can make all the difference–am I right? Here is one I created for you to remind you of what is true about God. (Click on the image below and download.)

Do you like to watch HGTV-type shows? A family that I follow on Instagram are currently renovating a home–their stories are delightful and every Sunday they post a recap video on IGTV. Check out Ashley Petrone @arrowsandbow!
The last few days I’ve been listening to the Psalms quite a bit and I keep coming back to Psalm 33 (CSB version). Give it a listen while you wash the dishes or go on a walk. Refresh your soul with the Word of God.
We wait for the Lord; He is our help and shield. For our hearts rejoice in Him because we trust in His holy name. May Your faithful love rest on us, Lord, for we put our hope in You.
Psalm 33:20-22
